About Spiti :-

Without any further ado lets dive into the details starting with a quick brushing through the history. Spiti, meaning “The Middle Land”, lies between Tibet and India — and its history is just as rich as its landscape. For centuries, it has been a cultural crossroads, deeply influenced by Tibetan Buddhism and ancient Indian kingdoms. Once a part of the Western Tibetan empire, Spiti was a vital trade and pilgrimage route connecting Tibet, Ladakh, and Kinnaur.

Its remote monasteries — like Tabo, over 1,000 years old and often called the Ajanta of the Himalayas, and Key Monastery, perched like a fortress on a hill — are living museums of Indo-Tibetan art, scripture, and architecture.

In the 19th century, Spiti came under British colonial control, but its cultural heartbeat remained untouched. Even today, it feels frozen in time — its traditions, mud-brick villages, and ancient rituals still echo the rhythm of a bygone era. More on this when we meet! :)

Day 1 -🏞️✨ Arrival in Manali — Where Stories Begin and Air Gets Lighter

{ Arrive at Tra - A Boutique Stay, Relax , Walk to Waterfall, Unwind }

Welcome to Tra – A Boutique Stay, your cocoon of calm in the buzzing heart of the Himalayas. Tucked into a lush valley of pine forests, gushing waterfalls, and timeless trails, Manali is not just a stopover — it’s the pause before the pulse quickens.

Once a crucial waypoint on the ancient Silk Route, and now the stylish front porch of the Trans-Himalayas, Manali has played host to monks, merchants, mountaineers — and now, you.

As you breathe in this crisp mountain air, let your body acclimatize and your senses recalibrate. This valley isn’t in a rush, and neither should you be. Stroll through apple orchards, sip warm drinks under cedar trees, or simply do nothing — luxuriously.

Tomorrow, we climb. But today, we arrive — slowly, soulfully.

  • Check in at Tra - A Boutique Stay, amidst apple orchards. Rest & Enjoy the breathtaking and unobstructive views of the North Wall (Pir Pranjal & Dhauladhar Range) and the endless orchard plantations.

  • Meet your host, Kanupriya, the team & other participants.

  • By afternoon head for a short hike to a nearby waterfall for a dip aiding in acclimatization before we cross the wall.

  • Head back to the stay and freshen up.

  • Dinner at the stay only.

Day 2 - 🛻💫 From Clifftop Chaos to Cosmic Calm: A Drive into Spiti

{ Manali to Rangrik, Kaza via Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel & Kunzum La (4,550 mts Pass)}

Buckle up for a 6–7 hour journey through ever-shifting landscapes — from lush valleys to stark, high-altitude deserts — all within a single Indian state. Today’s drive is an unfolding canvas of changing hues, dramatic terrains, and layered cultures, as we trace ancient trade routes that once carried salt, silk, and stories.

This is no ordinary road trip. Expect dramatic cliff-hugging roads, glacial rivers shimmering under open skies, and Himalayan passes that rise gently into the realm of clouds.

By evening, we arrive at our serene sanctuary — a handcrafted boutique hideout in Rangrik, just 10 minutes from Kaza, yet worlds away in energy. We’ll call this luxury lodge — lovingly nicknamed “The Abode Made by God” — home for the next three days.

Here, luxury is not about opulence, but presence — sunrise chai with Himalayan finches, sunset strolls through pea fields, and a million-star sky show every night. The pace is intentionally unhurried, the experience deeply grounding.

  • 187 kms | 6-7 Hrs

  • After an early breakfast, depart for Rangrik, a small hamlet near Kaza, in the surreal valley of Spiti. Watch the tree line recede into the rolling cold deserts of Himalayas painted in striking colors and geometry.

  • Check into your luxury cottage stay and enjoy the expanse of the Trans Himalayas with a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

  • Dinner at the stay following a casual chat on history and the itinerary by the bonfire to warm up for tomorrow.

 Day 3 🌌📮 The Highest of Highs: A Day in the Sky

{Day trip to Tabo, Dhankar, Langza, Hikkim, Komik and Kaza town}

Today, we rise — not just in altitude, but in perspective.

Welcome to what we call the “World’s Highest Day”, where we time-travel through ancient seabeds, age-old monasteries, and timeless villages perched closer to the clouds than the earth. It’s a day that blends geology, spirituality, and soul in the surreal landscape of Spiti.

We begin in Tabo, home to the oldest living monastery in India — a sanctuary of mud walls and murals so divine, it's been called the Ajanta-Ellora of the Himalayas. From there, we ascend to Dhankar, a cliff-top monastery that once served as a fort — its panoramic silence speaking louder than words.

As the road winds upward, so does the wonder. In Langza, sea fossils whisper tales of a time when these mighty mountains were ocean floors. In Hikkim, we pause to post a love note from the highest post office in the world — a moment both playful and profound. Then it's on to Komik, one of the highest inhabited villages on Earth, where the air is thin, but the beauty is overwhelming.

And somewhere in between, you'll notice it — the quiet hum of Spiti working its way into your being. It's in the wind, the wide skies, and the sudden stillness that reminds you: you’re exactly where you're meant to be, ending our day in the contrasting town of Kaza with its glittering streets and charm.

  • After breakfast, head for full day sightseeing at the most famous and not to be missed spots of Spiti.

  • Kaza bazaar for night life.

  • Dinner at the stay following a guided star gazing session.

🏔️🌈 Day 4 – Of Monks, Bridges & a Village of One

{Key Monastery, Kibber, Chicham, Tashi gang & A Surprise:)}

Today is a journey not just through space, but through stillness. We begin with a sunrise visit to the majestic Key Monastery, Spiti’s most iconic spiritual stronghold — where monks chant as the morning light spills over the valley.

From there, we move to Kibber, famed for winter snow leopard sightings, where even the rocks seem to hold secrets. Then it’s on to Chicham, home to the highest suspended bridge in India, an engineering marvel that casually hangs over Himalayan gorges like it’s no big deal.

Next, we ascend to the whimsical village of Tashigang, where just three homes stand guard under skies streaked with rainbows. It’s one of those places where silence feels sacred, and time forgets to tick.

And just when you think the day can’t surprise you further — we take you to the only village that redefines the word remote. With just one home, one family, and a universe of quiet, this invites you into the philosophy of Shunya — the richness of zero, of less, of pure presence.

We won’t say much more — because today’s finale is a surprise experience that can only be felt, not described.

  • After breakfast, head for full day sightseeing at the most famous and not to be missed spots of Spiti.

  • Followed by a surprise activity in the robust village, with the one and only family!

Chandrataal

🌙🏕 Day 5 – Chandrataal: A Night with the Moon on Earth

{Chandrataal | 4250 mts | 4-5 hrs via Kunzum la}

Today, we chase reflections — not just in water, but within.

Our road leads to Chandrataal, the celestial crescent of Spiti, where snow-fed streams gather in a sacred hush. This is no ordinary lake — it’s nature’s own reservoir, silently sustaining life downstream while gifting us a moment of stillness above it all.

Set at over 14,000 feet, Chandrataal is both story and sanctuary. In the short summer months, Gaddi shepherds bring their flocks here, grazing on the alpine marsh that yields the finest wool. The air carries legends: walk a full circle around the lake, they say, and you'll wash away the weight of what no longer belongs.

And tonight, we camp by its shores. Beneath a sky dense with stars and beside waters that mirror the moon, luxury takes a new shape — raw, rare, and real.

This isn’t just a stay — it’s a sacred pause.

  • After early breakfast, head to Chandrataal.

  • Evening to liesure with star gazing

  • Dinner at Camps

🚙🌲 Day 6 – Descent to Manali: The Road Home

{Chandrataal to Manali | 111kms | 4-5 Hrs}

All journeys, no matter how soul-stirring, must find their way back.

Today, we begin our return to Manali — a slow descent from Spiti’s wild silence to the familiar rhythm of pine-lined roads and soft civilization. With every curve, you’ll carry home more than photographs: stories etched in rock, starlight, and stillness.

As we roll back through the mountains, let the memories settle. The monasteries, the moonscapes, the one-house village, and that unforgettable night under a billion stars — it all comes with you.

Your hosts will escort you back to Manali, where you may choose to stay on and bask a little longer in boutique comfort — or head home with your heart slightly heavier and your spirit infinitely lighter.

Because Spiti never really lets you go.It simply waits for your return.

  • After early breakfast, head to Manali.

  • Drop at Mall Road / Manali Bus Stand by 12-1 PM
